West Highland Motels are situated just 12 minutes from the central hub of the main West Coast town of Greymouth. Greymouth has been the main centre of the Coast since mining days when ships would arrive and depart from its sea port bringing much needed and necessary supplies to the locals.
The town is the largest on the Coast and the main focus of many tourist destinations including the breathtaking Alpine Express which traverses the majestic Southern Alps with it's stunning views. Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers are just a couple of hours drive south of Greymouth and 40 minutes drive north to Punakaiki and the Pan Cake Rocks with fantastic blow holes.
There are many activities including, bush walks, fishing, swimming, cave rafting, recreational 4 wheel biking, scenic flights, art and jade galleries to name just a few. Once arriving in Greymouth you will find us just south of the town at Paroa where you turn off at the sign-post to Shantytown. We are 2 minutes past the Shantytown gates, nestled amongst the true West Coast bush.
